An Abundance of Sites to see in Italy

Italy is the birthplace of the Renaissance, the home of many great artists and the largest collection of art in the world. There are architecture sites in Italy that will take your breath away.  You will find the country has captured your imagination with the lure of ancient culture and vast history. Exploration will be on your mind as you travel the picturesque countryside, stopping to visit ancient ruins or sampling wine from the grand vineyards that dot the landscape. Nothing says romance like traveling by gondolas down beautiful canals. In short there are so many sites to see in Italy, and it has something for everyone.

Of course, no matter who you are or why you are traveling to Italy, there are locations that cannot be missed. Rome, Italy’s capital city is the site of the Colosseum and the Pantheon or visit the Sistine Chapel so see the exquisite work of Michelangelo. While in Rome, make sure to toss a coin or two into the Trevi Fountain, which legend has it will guarantee your return trip to this majestic city. Traveling further on, Venice is the pinnacle of romance with picturesque rides down the Grand Canal, gliding past palazzos, palaces and grand cathedrals. If you venture to Florence, you can take in art at the Galleria dell’Accademia or shop at the Piazza Santo Spirito. From the fashionable streets of Milan to the ruins of Pompeii in Naples, there is nearly an unending list of sites to see in Italy.
