Two of the most important things to consider are your budget for traveling, and the quality of the accommodations you want to have.

You need to remember that the flight, or gas money if you are driving, and the hotel are just part of the cost. You will also need to provide food and other necessities for everyone that will be traveling with you. Once you know how much you can spend, you can start looking for accommodations that are within that budget, and will allow you to have something to spend on food and entertainment.
